Read to Grow

Did you know that November is National Family Literacy Month? Well, there is a great way for you to get involved and help promote this cause! Read to Grow, a nonprofit organization based in Branford, is committed to advancing child literacy and educating families on the critically important role it plays in early child development.  To that end, Read to Grow has donated over 2.2 million books in the last two decades. Lori Galvin served in public education for 18 years as an elementary school teacher and reading consultant. As such, we have partnered with Read to Grow to support their efforts in the area of child literacy.

How can you help? Lori’s Truth will be conducting a book drive beginning on Saturday, October 24th and extending throughout the month of November.  All donations will go directly to Read to Grow programs. Please join us for the initial kickoff event taking place on Saturday, October 24th at the town green in front of First Congregational Church from 9 AM-1 PM.  We are looking for gently used books for a variety of age groups from newborns through high school.
